In the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, Elea/Libre filed a motion against the Mozal Law. Faced with this “unjust law” that came into force on July 1, 2015, the City Council has not approved the motion and the PNV and PSE oppose it, they have not accepted the three points:

  • Reaffirm public opposition to the Mozal Law and other unjust laws.
  • If this law is reapplied, make a public complaint and support the convicted person.
  • That a majority of the public representation of the City Council, opposed to this law, undertakes not to apply this law.
Law for the Punishment of Dissent

The movement has declared that “the measures of the Gag Law are formulated with the aim of sanctioning the protest.” They add that with the Gag Law, “not only are acts criminalized, but human groups are also criminalized.” They denounce that “the police become judges, increasing the impunity of the police and leaving the population defenseless.”
