As the union explained, the municipal representatives told them that in order to serve 50 people the only gold-waiter is the right ratio and that a cook is sufficient. ESK expressed its desire to know the ratios of similar services and soon afterwards received the City Council’s reply: that there are no other services similar to those offered by the City Hall to compare ratios.
However, the union has performed the household chores and says that in the nursing homes of Vitoria-Gasteiz that have the subcontracted dining room, the City Hall forces two employees, and only one if the number of people served is less than 30. ESK cites Lakua-Arriaga (40 served) or San Martin (48 served) to compare with Arquillos (50 served).
“The City of Vitoria-Gasteiz cannot accept lower staff and quality ratios than those required for subcontracted companies providing a similar service.”
