On Monday morning phone 092 a few calls were received due to the strong debate between a couple in a house in the neighborhood of Arriaga-Lakua, according to the Basque Government Security Department.
The police who approached the house found a woman injured in the thigh on the ground floor. The victim told the Ertzainas that the wound was caused by a handful of her partner. The woman was discharged Monday morning.
The City of Vitoria-Gasteiz has adopted an institutional declaration condemning the attack and supporting the victim. They report that they have made available psychological, legal, health, protection and reception resources.
The City Hall of Vitoria-Gasteiz has called a rally on Tuesday 12 at 10:00 in the Plaza de España under the motto "Against the Macho Attacks".
Another attack
A 34-year-old man is arrested at the Vitoria-Gasteiz bus station on charges of assault on his partner. According to Naiz, it was Sunday morning, at 04:15. The Municipal Guard receives a warning of aggression and runs a patrol. The woman was found sitting on a bench, with her belongings scattered across the ground.
The woman did not want to give details of what happened, but one witness claimed to have seen the attack through video surveillance cameras. The agents found the alleged aggressor in the vicinity of the station and brought him to detention.
