The Theatre of Vitoria has suffered continuous delays and has not yet announced its opening. Dozens of cultural agents of the Basque Country in Vitoria-Gasteiz express their concern. They call on the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz to take the necessary measures to open the future Izaskun Arrue Cultural Centre.

The Lazarraga Cultural Society, in charge of space management, directly requested the municipal government formed by the PSE and the PNV in September. Over the months the situation has not made significant progress.

“Since the closure of Oihaneder Euskararen Etxea in July 2022, the Vitorians and the Gasteiztars have been without Basque cultural spaces. Without being able to enjoy the hundreds of activities organized there and without a place of reference to carry out our different projects,” the note points out. Given the delay, the agents have doubts about whether "it is a priority issue for the municipal government". Along with the request to put the necessary guarantees for the project on the table, they report that they want the theater "to be open as soon as possible".

The signatories to the request are Geu, Alea, Bai Euskarari, UEU, Euskaltzaleen Topagunea, Bertsola elkartea, AEK, IKA, Hegoalde, Udaberria, Sarburu, Judimendiko euskara batzordea and ZET.
