The leaders of the four unions have presented in Bilbao the document Social Agenda and the Right to Decide of the Basque Government. The ELA and LAB trade unions have been represented by Mitxel Lakuntza and Garbiñe Aranburu; the Galega Inter-Trade Union Confederation (CIG) by Paulo Carril; and the CSC Carles Sastre interunion by Confederacio Inter-Syndiccal Catalana (Inter-Trade Union). The document consists of four main demands: Democracy, sovereignty, social agenda and the right to decide. It also includes more concrete measures such as the reform of pensions and employment or the repeal of the Moorish Act.
The trade unions consider that the Spanish State is experiencing a social and political structural crisis and that the proposal they have agreed is intended to be an alternative to the "recentralizing" right and "self-same".
Meeting with independence political parties
The representatives of the Basque trade unions have addressed the Government of Spain, but at the same time they have questioned the political parties of their respective nations. They have announced a meeting for 19 February with the PNV, EH Bildu, the BNG, JxCAT, ERC and the Cup, with the aim of presenting the document.
