Although the process was launched in 2022, the Spanish government has now decided not to declare the species protected galeperra. As El Diario has brought to light, the subject of the quail has been in the spotlight among both hunter lobbies and environmental organizations.

The information from El Diario brings the matter to 2022, where, as a result of an investigation carried out by the Spanish Committee of Scientists, the bird was declared a species in danger of extinction. In response to this, the film lobby published a series of papers and presented them against the decision of the Committee with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture. Following the Committee ' s consideration of the information, the Government of Spain has indicated that the quail will not be declared in danger of extinction.

The European Commission has also made attempts to limit the hunting of birds. The Commission asked the Spanish government at the end of last year to allow Galeperra to be hunted for some time, the answer came from the Ministry of Agriculture, which refused.
