According to French legislation, after-school activities could start from 4 January. As a result, the students of Donibane Garazi, Iparralai and Garaztarra have had the way to resume dance courses in the Lauribar room.
On Wednesday, January 6, parents were not surprised to bring their children to the course of 14:00 hours, having seen the agents of the village house disinfecting Lauribar's room. Immediately, the associations that use the classroom have returned to the village house for information. They have been told that the room will again become an Advanced Complementary Centre to carry out the vaccination campaign. On Wednesday, a day full of after-school activities – in this case dance – we had to cancel everything, and alert families, even in a short time. After all, about 30 children, two dance teachers and four courses have been cancelled.
"The problem is not the creation of a vaccination center, but the way to do it: there is no warning, there is no information, knowing that there is an agreement between the users of the room and the house of the people"
The problem? The problem is not to create a vaccination center, but the way to do it: there's no notice, there's no information, knowing there's an agreement between the users of the classroom and the village house. Wasn't it possible that Thursday was the front of the room? Isn't it sure that the room is free over the village house? This house of the people who want to be close to the citizen, how can it act that way? Looking from the outside, the truth is that it would seem like a simple denial of course, but looking at this endless period of COVID-19 that children experience, those ways of doing are not inconsistent. What do you think of this story that children will hold?
The house of the people is committed to finding a solution to our problem. Of course, for us the problem is not ours, but it is theirs. Once again, without changing it for us, the village house sends us to the room of Lasa (the square room, which is not for dance in general) and to that of Izpura. Pain produced: Cultural activity still suffers from it.
A simple conversation could have prevented everything that was being presented here. As if that were not enough, in the words of the lehendakari of France we are considered a “non-essential” field. It hurts not to be consulted or warned. This lack of respect shows us the City Hall’s scarce fund for our activities. More than ever before, for body and mental mass, our public needs activities and moments of concentration. It is “essential”!
