EH Bildu and EH Bai, among others, consider that the presence of the Tour de France in the Basque Country is a "unique opportunity" to explain that "we depend on both states" and claim that "we are Basque".

They say that this is a social spectacle that goes beyond being a mere sporting spectacle and that “many eyes” will look at the roads of the Basque Country. That is why they have called to declare that there is a people who want to decide freely and democratically their future.

EH spokesman Bai, Mathilde Hary and EH spokesman Bildu, Unai Urruzuno, made a statement in Hendaia.
