Two French policemen stole about 100 ETA weapons in the disarmament process
  • "The two police officers had been handed over to the French Police in 2017 and 2018 by ETA over a hundred weapons that had been kept for them," the French newspaper Le Point reported. The French town of Arras, located in the department of Pas-de-Calais, has been the scene of several arms arrests. It appears that the French authorities had destroyed several, but not all, weapons handed over by ETA in the framework of a police operation. Reason or excuse: A bunch of weapons was hidden to analyze whether ETA used the weapon in attacks on the Police.

However, the two police officers in charge of the operation, instead of doing so, held the weapons in a warehouse they were in charge of. The police claim to have "an innate passion for weapons" and say they had no intention of doing "any kind of gun trafficking."

French justice has brought the case to the attention of French jurisprudence. The judicial route is open.
