- The LAB syndicate had denounced the City Hall of Donostia-San Sebastian for hiring the sculpture "Hondalea" in the lighthouse of the island of Santa Clara. The union denounced the irregularities that had occurred in the proceedings of the Ere. According to the City Hall of Donostia-San Sebastian in a note, the Prosecutor’s Office of Gipuzkoa has not found any irregularity in the administrative process.
The City Hall has explained that the public body provided the chief prosecutor of Gipuzkoa with documentation on the execution of the sculpture and that it cannot be concluded that irregularities have been committed in the procedure of contracting the works of the building of the lighthouse of the island of Santa Clara. The Public Prosecutor's Office considers that construction works "were in accordance with the current law" and, therefore, "cannot be included in any form of punishment".
Once the complaint has been filed, there is no possibility of appeal.
The mayor of Donostia-San Sebastian, Eneko Goia, has assured, after being aware of the Public Prosecutor's Office's ruling, that the administrative procedure has been "legal, correct and in accordance with the law". Moreover, it has defended the actions of the workers and the municipal control bodies.
