Felipe González was once again confronted by the newspaper library. A letter from the former PSOE leader to the victims of the Vitoria killings in 1976 was recently published through the March 3 Association. Gonzalez told the relatives of the deceased their "most sincere condolences" and their "readiness for any type of help".

44 years later, Felipe González's attitude is completely different. Along with José María Aznar, Francisco Rodríguez Zapatero and Mariano Rajoy, the former PSOE leader has signed a letter defending the francoist Rodolfo Martín Villa. Martin Villa appeared this Thursday before the Argentine judge María Servini, in Paris, for the crimes against humanity committed during the Franco regime. They include direct responsibility for the 3 March 1976 massacre in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
