Dimite the Head of the National Police of Navarra
  • The head of the National Police of Navarra, Daniel Rodríguez, has resigned from his office. The Spanish Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, said that the former police chief was to be dismissed tomorrow. Eldiario.es reported yesterday evening that, among other things, he has praised Antonio Tejero and Santiago Abascal, and insulted Gabriel Rufián and Ada Colau through his Twitter account. All this, without “managing” the account and without “influencing” its trade.

Daniel Rodríguez has been the head of the National Police of Navarra since 2012, when Mariano Rajoy was imposed in the elections. He opened his account in June 2016 with the name “Daniel” (@polds1612), but he has always kept it as private, that is, the activities could only be seen by his followers. He started writing the first tweets in November 2017 and immediately went from the “controversial jokes” to the “offensive tweets”.

Eldiario.es stated that, before publishing the news, they had a conversation with Rodríguez. The media said it had shown "contradictory" versions, because at first he said the account was managed by his brother, but then his wife said no. But by no means, even if the account is subject to your official mobile phone and bears your name. On the other hand, he added that what he does in his private life has neither “anything to do” nor “influences” his trade.
