This is what the Department of Education has told us that Son Martin cannot complete the higher education cycle he has chosen.

Ezkaintza Deleted.

I was not surprised that there were no Model D places at the largest vocational training institute in Álava. He couldn't be astonished. In the whole of Álava you can study only seven higher degree courses in Euskera, all of them in Vitoria-Gasteiz. In Llodio? zero. In Amurrio? zero. In Murgia? zero. Guard? zero. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, seven in public education, plus one in a Christian school, eight. This is the offer of model D of Higher Cycles of Vocational Training.

"I was not surprised that there were no Model D places at the largest vocational training institute in Álava. He couldn't be astonished. In all of Álava you can study only seven higher degree courses in Euskera, all of them in Vitoria-Gasteiz"

In model A? 30 cycles of public and eight private education. Total 38.

in model B? Nine of them in public education and two in private education are eleven higher education courses in Álava. Unlike model D, models A and B are available throughout the country.

Don't think that in medium grade cycles, things are much better: Four model D (three public, one private), all in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Model A 27 and model B 11 (one in private). Outside Vitoria-Gasteiz, vocational training cannot be studied only in Basque.

All these data are from the Basque Government: In this year’s enrollment period he listed the cycles that have actually been taught in Álava in the 2019-20 academic year, and this is the panorama he has taught us.

Surely there will be someone who thinks it is a matter of patience. The Department of Education will progressively strengthen the offer of vocational training in Basque. It is only a matter of time to have a solid offer in Basque also in vocational training. A false assumption.

We need to return to government data:

In the 2012-13 academic year, 8.93% of the Vocational Training students of Secondary Education in Álava attended the Model D and 11.88% of those of Higher Education.

In the 2018-19 academic year (I found no data for this year), 5.90% of the average levels were in model D and 10.60% of the higher.

It has to be admitted: if it is a little too much, the Basque Country has gone a long way in the vocational training of Álava. In secondary school no: in the same period of the year, the ESO Model D went from 41.78% to 51.33% and the baccalaureate went from 45.24% to 48.53%.

"Would we find it acceptable to force the student who has completed the ESO in model D to take the baccalaureate in model A? Well, that's what the Department of Education is doing with so many of those who choose vocational training."

Amazing? Not seriously: The Department of Education has been working for years on Vocational Training Abolishing Diplomacy. Instead of promoting, in the whammy. The registration system, for example, is designed to create Model A groups to the detriment of Model D groups. Forgetting that we refer to the registration of students with the right not to change the language model. Would it seem acceptable to force the student who has completed the ESO in Model D to take the baccalaureate in Model A? That is precisely what the Department of Education is doing with so many of those who opt for vocational training: forcing them to change their model. Of course: The people of model D should change the model, as those of model A will always have the opportunity to take the cycle in Spanish.

In the future, the situation does not seem to change. Aware of the situation of the Basque Country in vocational training, when the Department of Education asked us to plan the work for the next course, among many others, those of Irale in Vitoria-Gasteiz proposed to go to all the public centers of vocational training in Álava, to make a diagnosis of the situation of the Basque Country and to develop a plan to increase the offer of model D in the next courses.

Perhaps you read the proposal we had made to you in writing. Maybe not. How do we know if they have not responded directly to us?

The only thing we know is that Irale is also Ezkaintza Suppressed for the Department of Education of the Basque Government.

In both cases, the loser is the Basque.
