Climate activists from the Extinction Rebellion movement take action in Pamplona
  • “In the face of the indifference of world leaders,” the movement’s activists wanted to state that the fear of the climate emergency can also be “an instrument for fighting, raising awareness and organizing citizens” in Pamplona and five other cities in the Spanish state.

Individual sit-ins have been held on 25 July and, in some cases, traffic has also been hampered. In Pamplona, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and in the Plaza del Castillo, two activists have participated, who have carried a message in these two multitudinous spaces. The following can be read in the posters: "I'm scared to die in the next wave of heat from the climate crisis, from the fire, from the flood..." and "looking away from the climate crisis causes me anguish."

The Rebellion against Destruction or Extermination Rebellion was born in 2018 in England with the call for civil disobedience for governments to act against climate change. The movement, which has spread throughout the world, has representatives in 80 countries.
