Since the beginning of the works of the Donostia-San Sebastian Metro, damage has been done to the buildings of the journey of the intern and its surroundings. Among them are the cracks appearing in the buildings of Zarautz Avenue and Zubieta Street and the detachment that occurred in November 2019 on the same Zarautz Avenue.

Letter received by a neighbour of Zarautz Avenue

In the last week the offer of compensation to a neighbor of Zarautz Avenue has been made public by the business group that performs the works of the metro. This letter indicates the value of the damage caused by the works at the neighbour's home and will be paid to him. However, in return, the neighbour has to accept that this amount is a total compensation for the damage caused, denying any other claim to UTE Metro Benta Berri and the Basque Railway Network.

Eh Bildu de Donostia-San Sebastian has denounced that the Basque Government is trying to "silence" those affected by the works of the metro, and through letters similar to those they have sent to other neighbours. In addition, in the note it has made public, the coalition also raises a second issue, that of the opposition. Eneko Goia and the Basque Government denied that the damage of 2019 was due to the works of the suburban area, according to sources reported by the Basque Executive. However, in these compensation offers, the construction companies admit that these damages are due to the works of the subway intern.

Neighbors complain

In Irutxuloko Hitzan Mikel Elkoroberezibar has also noted that the neighbours of Zarautz Street have complained that they had been welcomed. In particular, they have denounced that, following the take-off of 2019, the hillside behind their house has been occupied only by a metallic network that has not been repaired. A report on the damages caused by the works of the Irutxuloko Hitzak Metro will be published on Friday in Aizkorri and Zubieta Street.
