We are very used to using the computer tools that allow us free and accessible. But their management does not depend on each. The Euskarabildua days have shown us in recent years that a technology that cannot be managed independently can threaten the coherence of oneself, close the doors to community input, cut wings to smaller languages and thwart efforts to care for the environment. On the contrary, several rapporteurs have told us that sovereign technologies make us free, take care of what we are and are showcase for more sustainable, humane and responsible choices.

At this year’s Euskarabildua Conference we want to focus on more sustainable, more humane and responsible options. That is, beyond the Google universe, the collectives and projects that work to bring free and sovereign software closer to citizens will be presented.

Among other things, Alexis Kauffmann, responsible for software projects and open educational resources and diversity of the French Ministry of Education, will come to present the French educational model in the digital sector.

The day will also present a series of tools for everyday use that can be parameterizable to the needs themselves, which protect the privacy of data from the big platforms and which are also available in Basque: Nextcloud, virtual office for any organization or company, Odoo ERP system and digital marketing software Mailtrain, among others.

The Euskarabildua Day will be held on October 26 at the San Telmo Museum and is organized by ARGIA, together with companies from the Iametza and Ametzagaiña group. Registration can be done via the web www.euskarabildua.eus.
