Several journalists have once again questioned the use of the Basque language at a football press conference. On this occasion he was the coach of the Real Sociedad, Imanol Alguacil, in charge of launching the complaints.

According to the Diario Vasco and Naiz, at the press conference prior to the European League game that played Real against Nice on Wednesday, while answering the questions of ETB and Euskadi Irratia in Euskera, several local journalists showed their indignation and complaint for not understanding what was being said. According to these media, some journalists also said, as a threat, that the questions would be made in Nacar, Occitan variant, if the answer continued in Basque.

The Basque journalists, seeing the situation, proposed that the coach collect the statements separately, but the Real Sociedad Media Officer, Carlos Aguirre, decided to go ahead with the press conference and Alguacil continued to respond in Basque to the Basque media in Nice.
