Xabier Iturbe worked to privatize the bank, when Kutxa was president of the Gipuzkoan company. Euskaltel took over the presidency of the entity on Tuesday and will serve as a director with his CEO, José Miguel García, in Congress. According to News from Gipuzkoa, Iturbe's candidacy was unanimously approved by the CAV Management Board.
In the first year of 2019, many workers were dismissed from the operating company’s office, after the British company Zegona became its main shareholder. Iturbe replaces Alberto García Erauzkin, who took part in the leap to the Euskaltel Exchange.
