We are a group of Basque parents, and proud to be Basque. And proud to take care of what we want, Euskara and children. These proud also to work in Basque at school, at home, among friends... But what about after-school activities?
Many fathers and mothers have already put themselves in front of the new course and to choose outside the school of our children. But like every year, we find ourselves with a pawn to overcome. It's been up to us to do research and exploration work so that our boys and girls have an offer in Euskera. To call from one side to the other, to ask here and there, and that our children can make music, drawing, circus, karate, climbing, theatre, swimming, yoga,… All are obstacles to doing it in EUSKERA: sometimes there is no offer, sometimes there are no vasco-speaking professors but we cannot ensure that the group is Euskaldun, that children from Castilian and Spanish also have the right to join. Therefore, Euskera and Euskaldunes children are in the background, in the Navarre capital and in many neighbourhoods and towns in the area.
All of them have been located in both private and public supply centers. We miss the Basque groups in the Sports Federations, in the Schools of Music and Sports Facilities managed by the administration, in the offers of private entities... What's why? desiccation, discouragement or relaxation, or... Can it be treated as a secondary language? Or want not to have enough Basque and not to be proud of being Basque?
We are Euskaldunes and we want to live in Euskera at home, on the street, in school, also when we do sports, when we learn music and when in the pool we go with the plista-plast, when we ride the helmet on the wall or when we dance ballet. Regardless of the activity we choose, we want to do it in Basque: because we want to know the names of all the swimming styles in Basque, because we want our coaches to encourage us in Basque, we want groups of Basque music, we want to relax in Basque…
We, because we are Basques, because we are proud and because it makes us Euskaldunes to work in Basque in all places and activities! Because we want to live and work in Basque! Because Euskera is livable and because life in Euskera is a right that must be guaranteed... we will take over Euskera and Euskera, all those who organize extracurricular activities, we ask you to offer Euskera. For our Txikis to be very Euskaldunes, for you too to be Euskaldunes, for speaking in Basque in all places and activities makes us very Euskaldunes.
