The Basque nation, yes?
Zalo Akaziaga 2024ko urtarrilaren 17a

These are dark times for the Basque nation. And in the nation I say, not only do I speak in this language and in the nation, but I speak of the Basque nation of the citizens that we want to endow ourselves with the highest political legal order, of which we form the Vascophiles and the Basque nationalists.

When another year ends and starts, we all tend to look back and forth, looking to guess where we come from and where we go, what we've done so far and what we're going to continue to do. And I would say that, as a nation, we have done little and we have everything to do. Gradually, year after year, our identity, our identity, our culture and our language (the Basque language) are merging to the benefit of the dominated states, increasingly Spanish and French in the Basque Country South and North, respectively.

For all these reasons, it is time for the union, so that the fans of the nation-Vascophilus, at least in part, join us in initiatives and actions so that we can continue as a nation. And for that union political leadership is essential: I'm talking mostly about PNV and EH Bildu, yes, or EH Bildu and the PNV, if you've wanted it, because no matter the order, because the outcome of the union is important.

There is time for the Basque people, to some extent, to join us in initiatives and actions, so that we can survive as a nation.

This year 2024, which we have just begun, will again be an election year in at least two areas: The Basque Parliament and the European Parliament. And in both cases we have to be clear that we must not confront ourselves, because we are both essential to maintain the Basque nation. Unlike what we have just left behind 2023.ean, in elections outside our geographical area we have to work a certain strategic unity, because we have a common objective outside here: the recognition and legitimization of the Basque nation. But to do so, beyond the parameters of the left right, because we had to merge the political facts that competed with us, adding forces, and in the points that differentiate us, we did not beat or face, because that is what the opponents and enemies of the Basque nation, who “divide and overcome” are very internalized.

In fact, national Euskaldunes have been separated for decades for the enjoyment of the dominant Castilian speakers, which is, little by little, the finishing of our nation, the height of our identity, the loss of Basque and Basque culture. And to stop this degeneration, a certain unity is needed.

I would venture to say that in the European elections, as in the Spanish and French elections, this strategic unit of Basque parties (PNV, EH Bildu, Geroa Bai, EH Bai) is already a matter of life, and that, in a way, joint lists should be presented in these types of institutions, because only in this way would the strength and will of the Basque nationalists be reflected. Another issue is how to act in local elections, where there are other things besides the Basque identity.

If we do not start working together as soon as possible, we already have a party like Euskal Herria.

Happy national year!
