The members of the initiative have recognised the European Commission that all this work has been carried out against the City Hall and other institutions, but on receiving the prize, they have described Uliako Lore-Baratzak as "an example of tomorrow's Europe".

Uliako Lore-Baratzak is a neighborhood garden project located on the slopes of Mount Ulia de Donostia-San Sebastián, a former nursery of municipal plants managed by the citizenry. In the words of the members of the initiative, "supported and driven by the volunteering of many people, they want to generate new relationships among committed citizens, taking as axis the conservation of nature".

In the New European Bauhaus, among 2,000 European projects, 60 have been the candidates for this award, divided into ten categories, including 60. The awards aim to "accelerate the green transition and ensure better coexistence, generate new ideas and solutions through knowledge and experience".

The members of Donostia-San Sebastian have received the prize at an event held in Brussels.
