ETA victims have stated that recognition of the right to truth, justice, reparation and memory also to police victims. Relatives of 41 people who have suffered ETA attacks or "groups around them" say that victims of police abuse and extreme right-wing groups must be acknowledged.
The article emphasizes that “the recognition of the rights of these victims does not imply justifying what happened, putting the victims at the same level, or legitimizing the attacks that we or our family members have suffered”. However, they have stated that “we are acknowledging that these victims also have the right to truth, justice, reparation and memory.”
They have warned that it would be "a serious political and human error" not to recognise victims of police and extreme right abuses.
