INPRIMATU
Authoritarian patriarchal state
  • Pater: Father: It is about protecting the father's role in the nuclear family. Protection of children, as children cannot protect themselves. Children need limitations, and those limits are not agreements between equals. Authority comes to us by surprise. The father also has authority over the mother to protect her. The hierarchy in the family and in society is established by the violent identification between the status of woman, fragility and immaturity.

The coronavirus makes society vulnerable. The weak has not arrived; there is fraud. Adult, I mean, an autonomous person with an agency that manages their vulnerability and interdependence. It knows the specific needs of each of them and others and cares for them, individually and collectively, in a spirit of solidarity. The State does not allow the maturity of society to develop it. It's the power at stake. It directly uses authority and repression – there are more fines than sick – by educating society. And people, happy.

The measures imposed by the patriarchal state do not affect us all equally: anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, an aggressor at home, claustrophobia, an eight-year-old hyperactive child, an elderly person who fears going out to the streets, a slut, without papers, who works in black, a maid, who lives in a courtyard without light. But the authoritarian capitalist pater hardly sees diversity: they are nothing but unproductive margins or resources that can be exploited that do not correspond to the hegemonic model. What is more, it goes beyond the threshold of violence, as seen in Bilbao.

Only a mature, non-patriarchal society can manage this crisis from solidarity. But at the moment, too many people prefer to be a child. And the state, happy.
