Ekaitz Ezkerra, the last prisoner of the Donostia Popular Wall, is released from prison
  • Last Sunday, 7 April, Donostian political prisoner Ekaitz Ezkerra was released from prison after serving a six-year sentence to which he was convicted. Ezkerra was arrested on April 30, 2013, in Askegunea de Donostia-San Sebastián, accused of integration into the illegalized organization Segi. The last to leave those arrested and imprisoned at that time was Ezkerra, who has been concentrated.

Oier Lorente, Mikel Arretxe, Ekaitz Ibero, Egoi Alberdi and Aitor Olaizola were arrested in Donostia-San Sebastián together with Ezkerra in April 2013. The popular wall, organized by hundreds of young people to defend the freedom of these young people, left memorable images that would then be repeated in other locations (Ondarroa, Azpeitia, Iruñea, Gasteiz..). In addition to these six young people, Nahikari Otaegi and Imanol Vicente were also convicted in the same sentence.

Family members and friends received Ekaitz Ezkerra in screams and demands for the freedom of Basque political prisoners, first in Burgos prison and later in Astigarraga.
