Edward Poindexter, 53, dies in Nebraska prison at 79 years of age in the United States due to diabetes, according to Nebrasca Examiner.

Poindexter, David Rice was convicted alongside the Black Panther in 1970 for the murder of Omaha police officer Larry Minard. Minard was killed by a bomb.

Poindexter always defended his innocence and civil rights associations strongly denounced his conviction, arguing that both people were condemned for their political activism, for belonging to the Black Panthers.
