The image shown in the network and in many media among the attacks against the states has been that of Temuco. There, the states were brought down in honor of the Spanish colonizers Pedro de Valdivia and García Hurtado de Mendoza and Diego Portales, considered the father of the Chilean State, along with other military and political leaders.
Then, they cut their heads off from the statue of the military Diego de Godoy and tied themselves to the state hand of the Mapuche leader Caupolican, who confronted the Spaniards in the 16th century.
Here are some images and videos of Maputxe's activities:
Today the statues of the Spaniards Pedro de Valdivia and García Hurtado de Mendoza who were in the Plaza de Armas de Cañete, Bío Bío Region, were demolished. The Mapuche community is knocking down the colonial symbols. 🇨🇱✨✊🏽 #Chile pic.twitter.com/ofVozHKmtW

In the Plaza de la Independencia of Concepción they threw down the bust of Pedro de Valdivia and put it at the feet of Lautaro. I love this new Chile.❤️ pic.twitter.com/R07CRtFKxi
