Ahotsa.info reported on Thursday that at least five people were arrested by the National Police in Pamplona/Iruña accused of causing "public disorder" in protests over the arrest of rapper Pablo Hasel during his detention. According to the information provided by the media, in addition to the detainees, two more persons have been called to testify.
The agency Efe, for its part, reported on a larger number of detainees on the basis of information from the Spanish Government’s delegation. Detainees were not distinguished from those called to testify in this count of detainees.
According to Naiz, all detainees are already at liberty.
The source of the arrests is the protest that took place on 20 February in Pamplona. The Socialist Youth Coordinator of the Region of Pamplona/Iruña (GKS) called for a demonstration in protest at the imprisonment of Pablo Hasel, after which there were incidents. The Police have arrested the five young people accused of these events in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Before the police intervention, they concentrated on Thursday night in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Pamplona/Iruña. "Over and above all the attacks, we will continue to defend our political freedoms," said GKS of the Region of Pamplona through social networks.
