Ministry of Health: "We'll have the same containment measures until day 26."
  • Although Hego Euskal Herria's staff will return to their workplaces on Tuesday, the Spanish Government's measures to curb coronavirus transmission "will be as effective as in the first two weeks". This is confirmed this Saturday by the director of the Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies (CCAES), María José Sierra.

"The containment we have had so far has been effective," said Sierra at the press conference of the technical committee for the daily monitoring of the coronavirus, this Saturday. He explained that the next two weeks will be "with the same degree of confinement" as in the first two weeks of confinement. During the first two weeks, mobility fell by "around 70%" and should continue to do so in the next two weeks, he said.

Sierra pointed out that the confinement was "effective". He has therefore warned that "the containment measures will remain the same, even though the remoteness is very harsh".

In recent days, the Spanish Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, has stated that, once measures are reduced, the first beneficiaries will be children. For the time being, it appears that the Spanish Government will continue to neglect the needs of children and adolescents.
