The Spanish Government acknowledges that the police asked him for permission to infiltrate social movements. Asked about the police infiltrated by the Valencian groups, Grande-Marlaska acknowledged that the Information Commissioner of the Spanish Police requested permission to infiltrate the agent nicknamed Ramón Martínez Hernández.

The Government has not given the name of the minister who authorized the police. Marlaska indicates that information related to infiltrations is collected in a secret file.

"Intelligence agents"

Marlaska has defined these agents as intelligence agents, not infiltrated agents. According to this, the information obtained by this type of police does not refer to ideologies or social movements, but to information of "interest in order and public security".

EH Bildu Deputy, Jon Iñarritu, for his part, asked about the alias Daniel Hernandez Pons in the movements of Barcelona and the police infiltrated in the Errekaleor neighborhood. Marlaska has pointed out that this type of police action is used "for special purposes", "in cases where there are well-founded suspicions that may be related to illegal criminal offences".

EH Bildu, CUP, Unidas Podemos, Junts, ERC and Esquerra Confederal will ask about the police infiltrated in Congress and the Senate.

Four cases in light

The journalistic work has obtained information about four police officers already infiltrated in social and political movements. The first three opened La Direct. Last June he announced the identity of the Spanish Police infiltrated in independence and the housing movement. In January 2023, he was also present in the social movements of Barcelona and in the Errekaleor neighborhood of Vitoria. And the police who infiltrated Valencian activism in February. Finally, El Salto published in March the case of a police officer infiltrated in Madrid.
