The Civil Guard had lifted the fence half a kilometer from the place where the Magi were going to arrive. They let the supporters of the monarchy pass, not the adversaries. Several social movements of ELA, LAB and Cizur Menor have called to protest against this institution that is lately giving much to say in relation to corruption.
Urabaien has told ARGIA that some protesters thought the kings would go ahead of them, but when they realized it was not going to be so, some went through a camp to make the protest visible. Several agents moved to the site and one of them started to push a demonstrator.
Journalist Mikel Urabaien, who is currently a journalist in the News Journal and a collaborator in other media, including ARGIA, went on to record the scene with his phone without knowing how he would end what he started with those shocks. “I saw myself in front of a possible news item and ran to record, from five meters, the police who pushed the journalist manifestante.Soy, had the right to record, he repeated without stopping, just in case. He, however, left the demonstrator and came to me.”
The video recorded by several witnesses shows that the police brought the journalist to the front and shook his hand at the phone. Urabaien says he defended the phone behind his back while still saying he was a journalist. They also asked which media he was working on.
At one point, three other civilian guards, who were chasing him, took him out of his hands and kicked him off the phone that was documenting the facts. “While I was being fucked by my wrists, they screamed at me to get the documentation out, but I couldn’t. I told them I couldn't, and their answer was that if I didn't give them the documentation quickly, it would be worse for me. Finally, they let him put his hand in his pocket and give them the documentation.
The police threw his cell phone to the ground and when he picked it up he was no longer recording and what he had previously documented was not kept.
Urabaien says he experienced what happened with a great deal of helplessness, but he has greatly appreciated the support of his colleagues and colleagues. Today the News Journal brings the article When trying to silence journalism, denouncing what happened to its journalist.
It says that attributing an attack to the authority is serious and false, but in the end, the Spanish Government delegation has called on the newspaper's director to tell him that they will not denounce.
On Monday, the Civil Guard identified two other members of the Gaztetxe Marko, located in Zizur Mayor, before the beginning of the rally.
