The parents of a school in Vitoria-Gasteiz have launched the initiative, but have already received the support of the parents of three territories of the CAV, concerned about the “physical, emotional and psychological consequences that the absolute obligation of the mask may have”.
Adults don't, children do?
This group of parents considers that the hardest part of the restrictive measures are being suffered by children when they are “at such a special moment of development”. An example is included in the letter: “It is not understood that the father and mother can be out without a sea bream, even when we are close to school, but that the children have to dress all the time, from the moment they enter through the door until they leave.”
The Education Advisor, Jokin Bildarratz, recalled that the World Health Organization recommends not using face masks while exercising and advises children under 12 years of age not to wear a face mask for possible damage to health and in studies.
It is precisely in the French State that it has been announced that from 4 October primary school children will not have to use the mask when the incidence rate permits.
