In a letter signed by the president of the association Rio Aragón, Miguel Solana, it is stated that antagonistic "two channels of information" are being created around Esa. On the one hand, the "scientist," who says that Yesa's Safety Factor is in "unacceptable" values and that superficial adaptations will not solve anything. On the other hand, there is "political" communication: "His only concern is to try to relativise the gravity of what the scientific discourse has set, when it is not about hiding it," he added.
Solana recalled that this July the City of Sangüesa received a report from the company Ingeotyc, prepared in conjunction with the UPV/EHU, confirming the risk generated by the cracks and the movement of the slope of Yesa, which advises the non-compliance of the new dam of recess.
In the face of this, Solana says that "we are suffering an informative and false bombardment, originating from the official offices". PSN spokesman Javier Lecumberri has gone over the words that several leaders used in the past: "We have to have a certain degree of tranquillity, because there is stability," the Socialist representative said in a video, in which he said no. "Meanwhile," Solana says, "the 335 mm that fell in November and December have brought new cracks."
Concern of Podemos
The representative of the United Nations Podemos and Chairman of the Commission for the Ecological Transition of the Parliament of Spain, Juantxo López Uralde, has expressed concern about the enlargement of Esa and has asked the Government of Spain to halt: "We are once again faced with a project that follows the old policy of major hydraulic works, above and beyond the ecological damage it generates and, above all, the risks it creates".
