The Commissioner of the Ertzaintza claimed that he lived on the spot and was not registered at the scene of the accident. The Civil Guard opened a dossier for attempted murder. He was on leave but he was in the official car, although that is not allowed.

This case has been recalled by the head of Osakidetza, Jon Sánchez Ibarluzea, who was also surprised at Castro Urdiales when the Civil Guard broke the lockdown. He resigned shortly after the news was received.
