"We have gone out into the street to claim that we do not accept this judgment full of lies," Ernai said. "They won't stop us or stop us. Young people will continue to fight for a dignified life."

Moments of tension

In front of BBVA’s headquarters in the Gran Vía, there have been moments of tension between the protesters and the Ertzaintza. Young people paste posters on the wall. The Ertzainas have identified a girl and formed a fence before the demonstration. The demonstration has been paralysed for five minutes and when the Ertzaintza has advanced it has followed closely.

At the end of the demonstration, Asier Alcedo, one of the young people who is going to testify before the judge, expressed his gratitude for the solidarity received these days, and added that in last year's mobilizations they did nothing but "fight for a life worthy of the young". It denounces the "police assembly", based on a "fraught with lies".

Detained on 7 May 2021

The youth organization Ernai held demonstrations on May 7, 2021 in various capitals of Euskal Herria “to denounce the emergency situation and to reclaim the social transformation and sovereignty of the young”. The Ertzaintza detained seven people in Bilbao and another in Vitoria.
