In addition to the 158 complaints filed to denounce the sexist aggressions, a further 769 have been filed for torture. There have been 194 documented cases of sexual harassment or violence, of which 179 have been forced to undress. In addition, more than 9,000 people have been arrested.

The president of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, stated that in some cases the "protocols of use of force for the control of public order" were breached and persecutions took place. The National Institute of Human Rights is going to resort to justice in many of these cases. Most of them are against carabineros.

Eldiario.es has reported that the Chilean Police will "restrict" the use of their shotguns during disturbances. A number of international organizations, including Amnesty International and the United Nations, have questioned police and military action to deal with the protests.
