In the plaza of the neighborhood, over the mural that can be read “Antifaxistak”, they have written “Up Spain we have returned” (“Gora España, we have returned”, in Basque) and have used the same mural to threaten a member of Sare Antifaxista’s death. The fist is raised in a nearby mural, on which a penis has been drawn. In addition, they have also attacked the mural in tribute to anarchist militant Xosé Tarrio González.
Apart from the murals, they have also had space in the neighborhood: in the Chess Space located in the same plaza of the attacked murals they have written “Catalonia is Spain”; beyond the plaza, they have also attacked the premises of the neighborhood, the premises of Lamana Street, Faktoria Lila and Pikara Magazine. If the demands with the attacks on the plaza were in favor of the unity of Spain and against independence, in the last places they have focused on feminism: In one of those painted prints signed on behalf of DNJ you can read “Soros putas”. The acronym DNJ belongs to the group Young National Democracy, youth section of the extreme right National Democracy (DN).
Under the motto “Pinta, sistah! ”, this Monday afternoon a feminist auzolan has been organized in Lamana Street, and they have called people to come with paintings, music or beers. Far from cleaning up fascism, they have expressed their intention to overtake it.
In addition to denouncing these facts, they recalled that on 8 November the Sare Antifaxista Association, on 28 June the Coordinator and SOS Racism have called for a mobilisation. Under the slogan “A thousand colors, against fascism!”, the demonstration will start at 19:00 from the Arriaga.
The mobilisation will take place in memory of the Broken Crystals Night. In fact, it is 81 years since 9 to 10 November 1938 at night in Germany and Austria of the attacks of the Assault Troops and several citizens against the Jews. Many have agreed to point out that this evening is the starting point for the Holocaust in the region.
