The ertzaina was arrested for the attempted murder, but, although he used a knife for the judge, “what happened is not serious enough to be considered an attempted murder.” Mainly because the woman and her daughters have no serious physical injuries. Both parties confirmed in the court contradictory versions of what happened and the man was released on the same Saturday afternoon as the alleged perpetrator of the charges.

The Ertzaina, who has been released temporarily for assaulting his wife, has been sentenced to a restraining order and will never be able to communicate with her. The judge accuses him of a felony of serious threats and an aggravating marriage to several detainees. For this crime, the aggressor faces a sentence of between six months and two years in prison.

He assaulted his wife in the presence of two minor daughters, with a large kitchen knife. The woman, with pepper gas, managed to escape from the room and ask for help from the youngest daughter with whom she had fled. They went to the policemen guarding Martutene prison at 4 a.m. When the Ertzaintza approached the house where the aggression had occurred, the man was locked up with his other daughter at home. The police managed, through negotiation, to remove the daughter and subsequently the aggressor stopped without resisting.
