Visits to the Donostia-San Sebastian Women's House grow by 45%
  • The Casa de las Mujeres de Donostia has received 34,601 visits in the course 2017/2018, as explained by the Council Councilor for Equality, Duñike Agirrezabalaga, in the presentation of the report of the Casa de las Mujeres. The residence located on Okendo Street received 140 visits, which represents an increase of 45% compared to the previous course. In addition to increasing visits, members have also risen, from 843 to 1,023, and 40% of those involved in the activities are partners.

The data collected in June last year are based on the 486 women who have participated in the empowerment groups and programmed workshops of the Women's House. 63% of the users participate in a single activity and 20% in two. Regarding origin, most of them are Gipuzkoans, to be more exact, 73.66% are Donostiarras and about 25% are Gipuzkoans.

As for the age of the users, a quarter of them are between 56 and 65 years old. On the other hand, about 18% of respondents are between 46 and 55 years old, between 36 and 45 years old, and between 25 and 35 years old. On the contrary, women under the age of 25 and over 65 are the ones who least come to the Women's House.

On the other hand, 60% of users are undergraduate students, 18% are undergraduate students, and 10% are undergraduate students. As for the employment situation, 32% of users are employed and full-time, 20% are retired, 19% unemployed, 11% are employed and part-time, 9% students and 7% self-employed.
