The Government of Mexico City has decreed a state of emergency to deal with male violence against women. The Vice-President of the Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, has announced that the list of aggressors will be made public and that the Clean Act will be implemented to regulate harassment and digital aggression against women.

In addition, the head of the Executive explained that, in order to provide support to women, he will carry out a tour called "Ibili Insurance". The first head of government in Mexico City has said that he has taken these measures because "as the problem gets rid of, it will be harder to solve it."

Increase in the number of victims

At least 50 women have been murdered so far this year in the State of Mexico City, although this number may be higher. In Mexico, ten women die every day.

Sheinbaum has had to respond to the increase in protests. In fact, in the country, the machista assault on a woman was publicized by four policemen, who denied the measure, announced on Thursday. On the contrary, when she has put the emergency she has declared that she “has to face reality” and has pointed out that “as a woman, she shares the anger, disagreement and impotence of women citizens”.
