Security Advisor Josu Erkorekoa reported on Wednesday an alleged sexual assault that occurred during Bilbao's Big Week in an interview with the Spanish SER radio. On Thursday, in an interview with Radio Popular Herri Irratia, she announced more information about the case: a woman woke up on Tuesday on a train departing from Bilbao, after passing Bilbao's Big Week, without remembering or distressing about what happened for a while in the early morning. He found himself in this situation and went to a health center for observation, as recommended after suffering a sexual assault or, as in this case, in the belief of having suffered a sexual assault, which is possible, without showering or washing.

According to information provided by Erkoreka, observation by doctors has reinforced the hypothesis of sexual assault by finding "conditions compatible with a possible sexual assault". The Ertzaintza is investigating what happened.

Activation of the protocol in the face of increased attacks

In addition to the above, more machista attacks have been recorded since the beginning of Aste Nagusia. During the feminist manifestation of the first night of the festivities, a series of attacks took place, according to the feminist movement, and in the days that followed, other aggressions have also been known. Faced with the increase in attacks, on Wednesday Konprats in Bilbao was forced to activate the protocol.

Defend Aste Nagusia against the Machistan attacks! in the concentration under the motto: "We are fed up with the attacks that aim to condition our lives and the possibility of freely living our festivities. We're fed up with violence and control-based masculinity. We own our bodies and our decisions. We want a festive space without violence, and we will do so with feminist organization and self-defense."
