The 43-year-old woman Laure Zacchello was last seen on the morning of June 21 and the Gendarmerie has requested the collaboration of witnesses to locate her. The Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the murder and has cautiously arrested her husband. According to the newspaper Sud Ouest, the man was interrogated during the weekend and said that there are "serious and strong signs" of his possible involvement in the case. Other hypotheses are not ruled out.

Baiona’s attorney, Jerome Bourrier, has announced on social media that he will appear before the Baiona Court on Thursday and has spread the search poster for Zacchelo.

The 43-year-old woman is 1.65 meters tall, slim build, has brown eyes and has medium black long hair. The French police are collecting information on the 4x4 vehicle of the Suzuki Samuraï brand which appears on the French National Police cartel. It is bright red, with blue stripes on the sides and registration plate GC-494-PR.

Call for a rally for Friday

The Feminist Movement of Ipar Euskal Herria has called a rally on Friday, June 28, at 18:30 in the afternoon in Urruña.

If feminicide is confirmed, it will be the second time of the year in Euskal Herria and also in Lapurdi, as can be confirmed in the map of Machian murders carried out by Berria. Last April in San Juan de Luz a man "brutally" murdered his partner, according to Attorney Jerome Bourrier.

Her partner was arrested, as although it was not initially determined whether the woman had fallen or had been thrown off the fifth floor of a hotel in Ziburu, according to Bourrier, the woman “had her ankles and wrists tied, a large wound with a hammer in her head and signs of being raped.”
