On Monday evening, a concentration was held in the Uribarri Bilbaite district to condemn the machist aggression suffered by a neighbour and to show her support for the woman. Several neighbours concentrated near the subway entrance to Uribarri in a mobilization called by the Iraka Feminist Group, Uribarri Auzolan and the Aletu collectives.
“First of all, two messages. The first, we want to send women all our warmth and solidarity; and the second, a warning, there is no room for you in this neighborhood! Not in the streets of our neighborhood, not in Bilbao, not in Euskal Herria, not anywhere in the world. So be careful,” they said. They also reported that the neighborhood has opted for feminist self-defense.
The aggression took place on 5 January in the Biscayan suburban of Metro Bilbao. The man began to look at the woman lasciously while touching her genitals, and cried out to her: The woman captured everything she had recorded in the video and denounced it through social media.
As EiTB reported this Tuesday morning, the Ertzaintza is looking for the aggressor, who has been arrested.
