The 30-year-old worker who suffered an accident in the trash can Aralar de Amezketa died in the work accident. On Thursday, at 14:00, the trash workers started a 24-hour stoppage. The merger took place at 11:00 this Friday at the Amezketa business portal.
Ibarra, a worker of the company subcontracted by Argi Lanak, has been transferred to the Basurto Hospital. This company was carrying out maintenance work in the Aralar area of Gipuzkoa. The Works Council has denounced that “companies using outsourced companies do not make the appropriate prevention plans.” In the companies in which they work subcontracted, it is up to the parent company, in this case Aralar, “to ensure coordination and security” among the unions.
The Works Council has attacked the philosophy of companies today. “They prioritize productivity and economic benefits by completely forgetting safety and health.” He adds that “the indifference of administrations has irreparable consequences for the working class”.
LAB has denounced that "precariousness and poor working conditions have caused 38 deaths in the year 2024" in the Basque Country.
