KoopFabrika is a program to boost the Transformative Social Economy and Social Entrepreneurship. The project for this course was presented on October 19 at the Texas Factory in the Donostia neighborhood of Egia. In it, Enara Izagirre Arrizabalaga told her experience: “I wanted to open a path. He had only one thing in his head, and KoopFabrika was a way to knock down what he had in his head. The formations and accompaniment were essential along the way”. It highlights the support received: “KoopFabrika served me to feel that I am not alone. I don’t know if I had progressed with my idea without KoopFabrika.” In this tour he became a member of Haratago consulting (in this article you can read what is Haratago). But it's not just that. “Three years later, I am now KoopFabrika’s travel companion. It’s a joy to see how new projects arrive and we can give them a helping hand.”

Indicators system for measuring the transformative reality of projects

Mirene Begiristain Zubilwaukee explains the Indicators System they have developed within KoopFabrika: “This is a process started a few years ago, by the hand of GEZKI. We asked ourselves a question. How are we really working on social entrepreneurship in projects? It's not a tool to measure results, but to define the path that processes want to follow. We came up with a proposal with a specific methodology and we are already using it at KoopFabrika. The central pillars of the indicator system are labour sovereignty, collective initiative, territory and social transformation, the sustainability of life (ecological balance and life at the centre), and economic loyalty.”

Improvements to this sixth year

Gorka Julio Hurtado explains KoopFabrika’s intentions for this course: “I would say that we are preparing the trampoline to make a qualitative leap. We will shape the knowledge and methodologies that we have accumulated over these years and prepare them so that we and others can use them. We have made reality what was once a pilot and now the objective is to systematize it to create something more universal, starting with Gipuzkoa, extending it to the Basque Country and extending it to the world”.

The Koopfabrika was launched in 2017 and since then dozens of projects have been carried out that in one way or another work in the transformation of our society. KoopFabrika is organised in collaboration with: Olatukoop, GEZKI (Institute for Cooperative Law and Social Economy of the UPV/EHU), Lanki (Cooperative Research Institute of the University of Mondragón) and the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, the project’s funding agency. The presentation also thanked the technicians and members of Hernani and Iturola for the facilities they have so far provided to KoopFabrika.

Here you have the option to register and schedule the training day that will take place in Eskoriatza.
