The audio-visual marathon Dec. Esku Bagara has served to appeal for mobilisation at the level of the Basque Country, and to make a reading of the current situation. On 16 November last, a 12-hour video chain has been produced and, at the same time, events have taken place in Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Pamplona/Iruña.

The first act of the day took place at the Alhóndiga in Bilbao, where a People’s Declaration was read. The initiative showed the commitment of the citizens in favor of an Basque Country libre.Entre the attendees were, among others, Xabier Euskitze, Alaia Martin, Joxe Leon Kazabon and Irati Odriozola. In addition to the above, more than 100 cultural and sports signatories have ratified their “commitment to move forward as a country”.

In a statement read in Bilbao, they have pointed out that “now is the time to write the future.” Although they have explained that the present is “changing” and, to a large extent, “uncertain”, they have stressed that they want to see “an entire people moving forward”, “by territories and by everyone’s hand”.

They say that “the key to the future” lies in the decisions that can be made now and that we have to be “ambitious” to build a better future for future generations. The goal of Cées Esku is to achieve a dignified people so that all Basques are proud and proud.
