Hundreds of protesters on the day of mobilisation for Patxi Ruiz
  • The political prisoner of the Txantrea has been tossed this Saturday by various media outlets in different localities. The Pro-Amnesty and Anti-Repression Movement has warned that Patxi's life is still in danger. He criticized the latest EPPK statement in which he said his goal was to "wear out" on the day of mobilisation.

On Saturday, demonstrations were organized in several towns and cities of Euskal Herria, on the occasion of the day of mobilization called by the Movement for Amnesty and Anti-Repression (AAEAM). The most massive mobilizations have taken place in the capitals, where hundreds of people have gathered. Following the demonstrations in Baiona, Vitoria, Pamplona, Bilbao and Donostia-San Sebastián, the organisers have read the same communiqué.

The AAEAM says that the situation remains serious: “Patxi has been very close to death, and if this situation does not change, he is still waiting for death.” The prisoner of the Txantrea is physically “weak”, but politically“ as strong as ever,” they said. The political leaders of the situation have been "all" institutional parties, prison and medical officials, judges, the media and "false pacifists". According to the organizers, Ruiz has awakened the popular movement and has become a “source of inspiration.” They have highlighted Ruiz's "total victory" political and assured that they will support him "in the decision he makes".

Against the EPPK communiqué

On Saturday, too, the AAEAM has disseminated its assessment of the last EPPK statement in Catalonia. In his view, “the EPPK, in addition to applauding the institutional parties that are part of the system, has attacked the popular movement, in an attempt to harm what is not controlled”. He also pointed out that the document was written in "some sortu office" and that its aim was to "weaken" the day of mobilisation. It has rejected the criticisms being directed at it by the EPPK communiqués and has attacked the sovereign coalition, Sortu and EH Bildu.
