Eh Bildu has been critical of the decision: “Prior to today’s approval of this new hotel, the municipal government announced that it was committed to curbing the expansion of hotels because there is no more public interest in granting new licenses.” Yesterday's municipal commissions talked about hotels in response to an inquiry by EH Bildu. Urban councillor Nekane Arzallus said that the proposals for the installation of new hotels are being rejected, as the City Hall considers that there is a sufficient number of accommodation in the city.
They have added that EH Bildu’s proposals to “limit” hotel proliferation have been rejected by the municipal government. “The excuse is always the same: that the government can do nothing and has hands tied.”
