The EH Bildu coalition has stated that on 20 November it was not chosen "randomly". Spokeswoman Garazi Perea explained the importance of the date: “On November 20, Franco died, but not Franco. They remain in the state, thanks to a transition that left everything well tied. Indeed, they were the ones who killed Santi Brouard and Josu Muguruza on 20 November.” The two HB members were shot to death; on Saturday, 37 years of the murder of Brouard and 32 years of the Muguruza shooting, and in the morning they will pay tribute to Egiari zor, the Spanish and French State victims’ association.
In the afternoon, the demonstration called by EH Bildu will begin in the streets of Bilbao, under the slogan "until a free and egalitarian people". Parliamentarian Oskar Matute called on the citizens to lift on Saturday the “wall of dignity to stop fascism”: “We will tell Casado, Ayuso, Abascal and Ortega Smith that they have not been able and will not be able to. They have no place in the Basque Country.” He has announced that following the protest at the Bilbao City Hall, Arnaldo Otegi will take the floor and hope that it will be a "turning point" for the future.
They have anticipated that seven commitments will be claimed in the merger: The right to decide, the sharing of wealth, parity, diversity, the Basque language as a national language and the rapprochement of prisoners. The callers include relatives of Basque political prisoners, “young independentists”, the Sortu trade union and the LAB trade union.
