The Abertzale EH Bai coalition will hold its first congress on Saturday, 26 November, after 30 local meetings. The appointment is at 08:30 at the Baiona Association House. In recent months, they will vote on the political project drawn, modeled, materialized and restructured. The first congress they have organized is considered "an important moment" by coalition activists.

Alliances are particularly important in the proposal to vote, as can be seen from the interview given to Anita Lopepe and Ibai Agirrebarrena Kazeta.eus: "On the one hand, there's a line that we call "street action," and there we do a stop to participate and drive social movements. In other words, we prefer to seek the alliance as broadly as possible. The other scheme of alliance would be the electoral one. We will aim to win by playing with more ambition. Yes, depending on each election EH Bai will have to choose." They would like to ensure "complementarity" between the two sides. They want to be in institutions as much as possible and have alliances for it as effective tools. "The new direction will have to have enough confidence in how we are going to be, in the best conditions to govern most of the peoples and, therefore, to increase our weight in the Basque College," says Lopepe. In the French article L´institution au coeur du congrès d´EH Bai de la embata you can read: "The development that has been known in recent years has increased the number of elected officials and therefore places the Basque movement before new institutional responsibilities. This should not be done to the detriment of ideological work or the sectoral struggles that can share movements with other sectors":

Beyond the Basque Public College

Although he appreciated the creation of the Colegio Vasco de Cascos Urbano in 2017, EH Bai feels the need to go one step further and continue betting on it. In fact, as can be seen in Enbata's article, "although leftist nationalists have been at the forefront of the struggle for this structure, it has never been a claim of territory, because since 2011 the various social and political agents gathered within the demand for the creation of a territorial college with special status".

In addition, the recognition of the Basque Country, the demand for passing exams in Basque, the return of prisoners and the movement against speculation... there are many issues that have broad social support and all within the framework of "sovereignty", which is what EH Bai aims to channel "from the nature of the people". However, it has been specified to Kazeta.eus that they will not discuss too much about sovereignty: "In any case, we are not going to spend too much time discussing the concept, because we need more commitment to that logic, and our bet is that the society we propose will reach all areas of transformation. We're not afraid to play with pragmatism."

In 2007 the Abertzaleen Batasuna, Batasuna and Eusko Alkartasuna parties met within the EH Bai coalition. After fifteen years of fighting and knowing the development of the institutions, a new structure will be agreed at the Saturday congress. A few days ago it was announced that Abertzaleen Batasuna has decided to dissolve it, so that all forces are given in EH Bai. As you know, ensuring the representation of each Abertzale party in the new structure is no longer a condition.

They have recommended to Congress a broad representation of the dependent nations of France: Canadian Minister Mickael Forrest, Polynesian Deputy Tematai Le Gayic, Brittany UDB Minister Lydie Massard, Occitania David Grosclaude, Federation Director Region et Peuple Solidaire, Peire Costa and Corsica François Alfons.
