The woman, who owes EUR 15,978 to the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, has come to the Ararteko in writing to the foral institution. Please explain your case: In 2017 he was fired and, with the compensation he received, started a business that initially failed. In 2018, the Biscayan Treasury presented a proposal for the liquidation of the activity of 2017, which included the payment of 21,000 euros. Faced with women ' s difficulty in dealing with this debt, she called for a split of the debt, which was granted and which in future should pay EUR 500 per month. The affected maintained such payments until November 2019, but from then on was unable to cope with the payment. In this context, Hacienda demanded that it pay within one month the EUR 15,978 that it had outstanding payments.

In the face of this situation, women have reported their case to Ararteko and Ararteko. Ararteko believes that the situation of vulnerability in which the affected family finds itself cannot cope with this debt, except with the fractionation of the debt that corresponds to it. In this regard, it has asked the Provincial Council of Bizkaia to adapt the Recovery Regulation so that vulnerable people can face their debts with dignity.
